Veneers

Wafer-thin porcelain to transform chipped, stained or uneven teeth.

The smile makeover classic

A veneer is a wafer-thin shell of porcelain, custom-made and bonded to the front of a tooth — like a false fingernail, but far stronger and made to last years. Veneers transform teeth that are chipped, stained, worn, uneven or gappy, and we offer the latest cosmetic veneers alongside our NHS treatment.

What can veneers fix?

  • Permanent staining that whitening can't shift
  • Chipped or worn front edges
  • Small gaps between front teeth
  • Slightly crooked or uneven teeth — a "straighter" smile without braces
  • Teeth that are too small, or oddly shaped

What happens?

  1. Consultation and design. We discuss the look you want — shade, shape and how many teeth to treat — and check your teeth are suitable.
  2. Preparation. A very thin layer of enamel (often less than a millimetre) is removed so the veneer sits flush. An impression goes to the lab and temporaries protect your teeth.
  3. Fitting. Each veneer is checked for fit and colour with you before being permanently bonded. The result should be indistinguishable from a beautiful natural tooth.

Looking after veneers

  • Brush and clean between teeth as normal — the tooth behind the veneer still needs care.
  • Avoid biting nails, pens or ice, and opening things with your teeth.
  • If you grind at night, tell us — a night guard protects your investment.
Whiten first: porcelain doesn't change colour, so if you'd like a brighter overall smile, whiten your natural teeth before veneers are shade-matched.
