Frightened of the dentist? You're in good company
Dental anxiety is one of the most common fears there is — and helping nervous patients is
something our practice is known for. Many of our longest-standing patients first arrived at our
door terrified, having avoided the dentist for years. Their words, not ours:
"I have a crippling phobia of dentists and once aware of this the
staff here put me at ease and took as much time as I needed... I have never been happier or more at
ease at a dentist in my entire life." — Terry, patient
How we help
- Tell us when you book. Let reception know you're nervous — we'll allow
extra time so you never feel rushed.
- Nothing happens without your say-so. Your first visit can simply be a chat and
a look, so you know exactly what (if anything) needs done.
- We explain everything first. Every step is described before it happens, and we
agree a stop signal so you're always in control.
- Gentle, modern techniques. Effective local anaesthetic and a patient, unhurried
approach make treatment far more comfortable than you may remember.
- No judgement — ever. However long it's been and whatever state you think
your teeth are in, we've seen it before and we're just glad you came.
Take the first step
